Celebrate the 4th of July in Minocqua Wisconsin

June 26, 2019

There is nothing better than a smoking barbecue grill, 80° weather, being surrounded by family and friends, and having the week off of work while celebrating America's independence. Ok... maybe cracking open an ice cold beer while vacationing at Nitschke's Northern Resort adds a touch of bliss to the mix.

Minocqua, Wisconsin has been drawing thousands of visitors to celebrate in the 4th of July festivities for a very long time. Many families have created a tradition out of visiting us up north and you can too! Just look at all these amazing things you can do while you are on vacation in Minocqua!

SPEND A DAY BOATING ON THE LAKE

Whether you rent a boat, bring your own, or join your new-found, cabin-neighbor-friends on their boat, there are so many ways to have fun on the water all day on the 4th. As evening falls, you can float up to one of Minocqua's restaurants on the water and have supper, then kick back and watch the fireworks display. Prime living at its best!

SOAK UP THE SUN AT THE BEACH

Maybe boating isn't your thing, but you still LOVE the water. Enjoy the fresh air and sunshine at any one of the area's beaches. Don't want to travel far? No worries! Guests at Nitschke's Northern Resort only have to walk to the water's edge to enjoy the only private, sandy, level beach on Lake Minocqua. Groomed weekly and surrounded by tons of lounge chairs, our beach is the perfect place to relax and restore while waiting for the fireworks. The best part is that when night falls, you now have the best fireworks viewing spot in all of the town!

JOIN OR WATCH THE KIDDIE PARADE

From Minocqua.org, "The kiddie parade starts at 3:45 pm and pre-registration is not required.  Children should gather on the sidewalk near Redman Realty (corner of Park Street West and Hwy. 51 South) by 3:15 pm on the 4th of July. All bikes, trikes, wagons and strollers may be decorated in red, white and blue.  No motorized vehicles are allowed in the kiddie parade."

WATCH THE MIN-AQUA BATS SKI SHOW

"The Min-Aqua Bats will perform a special show for the July 4th crowd beginning at 7 pm at the Aqua Bowl on Lake Minocqua. The group has provided free, thrilling water ski shows for over 50 years each summer." (source)

WATCH THE FIREWORKS DISPLAY

"After watching the parade and the water ski show, head to your favorite firework viewing area on land or water and settle in for the remainder of the night. Just remember ~ if you can see the blue water tower in downtown Minocqua – you will see the fireworks." (source)
